baby girl named Addison. When I’m not at the school you can find me at home
watching cartoons with my babygirl, cleaning, or playing with my 3 dogs. Can’t

I live where I can garden herbs, flowers and
vegetables. I play outside with my 2
rescue dogs, Rocky, a Labrador retriever and Roxanne, a Doberman Lab mix. I
love to travel to new places. Sitting in the swing on my big porch reading is
one of my favorite pastimes. I enjoy Mystery Thrillers. My favorite reading
subject is cookbooks from all over the world.
I have one young adult son who is my pride and joy. My mission in life is to help people enjoy
what reading can bring to them, whether it is thru teaching or just sharing
what I have read or experienced.

Hi, I’m Glenda Gayheart. This is my 23rd year teaching preschool. The first year I taught preschool was at Tollesboro Elem. I then transferred to LCCE where I have been since then. I live in Garrison, KY and have been married to Eddie for 27 years. I have 3 children, Emily, Blake and Nick. All three of my children attended schools in Lewis County. My oldest Emily is a Nurse Practioner at Maysville. She has 3 children Noah 15, Grant 10 and Ellie 5. My middle child is Blake. He works at Marathon in Cattletsburg. He is married to Sarah and they have one child Hadley age 6. My youngest child is Nick. He is married to Megan. They have a son Brennan age 6 and are expecting another child in May 2022. My family is my life. I love them all dearly. In my spare time I love spending time at my pool, in the sun. I love summer. It’s my most favorite time of year. I also like to read and watch Netflix J. Teaching preschool is both rewarding and challenging.

Hello! My name is Sheina Kegley, and I graduated from Lewis County High School in 1999. After some time in the Army Reserve, I graduated from Morehead State University in 2006 with degrees in elementary education and educational technology. I taught fifth grade at Mason County Intermediate School for fourteen years. At LCCE I will teach fifth grade science and social studies. My husband and I live in Orangeburg with five cows, three dogs, and our two sons, Brad and Bailey. As a family, we enjoy traveling, camping, and playing games. I also enjoy reading, planning adventures for my family, watching movies, and trying new foods.

and are expecting our first grandchild!

Hello! My name is Lauren Malone and I teach 6th grade ELA at Central Elementary! This is my first year at Central, but my third year working with students. I graduated from Mason County High School in 2015 and earned my B.A. in Education from Morehead State University. Currently, I am working toward my Master of Arts in Teaching. I began my career in education working as a college and career coach for GEAR UP Kentucky (a college and career readiness program for middle and high school students) at Mason County Schools. Reading and language arts have always been my favorite subjects, so I am ecstatic to share my love and knowledge of these subjects with students! I am a lifelong resident of Tollesboro, where I live on our family farm. We raise lots of cattle, hay, corn, and soybeans. In my free time, I enjoy spending time on the farm, attending livestock shows, cooking, and shopping. A fun fact about me: My great grandmother, grandmother, and great aunt all retired from Lewis County Schools. I'm looking forward to a great year! Go Lions!

Since 2003, I’ve enjoyed inspiring young minds and teaching each grade level at Central Elementary. Additionally, I earned my Rank I, National Board Certification, and Supervisor of Instruction Certification, along with a Ph.D. in Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. My passions are traveling, art, and being a lifelong learner with my wonderful husband, who also shares my love of reading and culture.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Switzer. I’m a 1st grade teacher here at LCCE. I completed my college degree at Morehead University and later finished my Master’s degree at Grand Canyon University. This is my sixteenth year at Central Elementary. I really enjoy teaching and watching the little minds of children grow and develop. When I am not at school working and preparing material for my class I am spending time with my husband and children. I have two children, Grace and Jameson, both are very active in sports and I enjoy watching them play the sports they love. They keep me pretty busy between running to practices and games but when I do have a few moments I love to spend time reading a good book or planning family vacations.

Hello, I am Ariel Watson and I started working at Central during February of 2020. I am a past student of Central and am excited to be working alongside my former teachers and many of my peers. I am married to Sam Daniel. I received my BA from Morehead State in Elementary Education and my certificate to teach the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from EKU. I myself am Hard of Hearing and it is my dream to help others who have hearing loss succeed in life! I am a big Disney fan and love music.
