Principles of Agricultural Science and Technology 030715
This course provides instruction in the foundations of various segments of the agricultural industry. Agricultural career opportunities will be emphasized. Animal science, plant and land science, and agricultural mechanics skills will be the focus of the curriculum. The selection and planning of a supervised agricultural experience program and related record keeping will be presented. Leadership development will be provided through FFA (Future Farmers of America). Students will receive personal guidance and counseling with preparatory instructional program selection.

Greenhouse Technology 010641
Greenhouse Technology provides instruction in greenhouse structures and greenhouse environment regulations. Plant growth and development and propagation are included as well as production and maintenance of bedding and container produced plants. Fundamental principles of vegetable production and commercial production of vegetable crops as well as marketing of horticulture products may be included. Leadership development will be provided through FFA (Future Farmers of America). Each student will be expected to have a supervised agricultural experience program.

Agribusiness and Farm Management 010131
This course introduces the free enterprise system, the study of economic principles, risk management, business law, budgets, finance, recordkeeping, and careers in agribusiness. Basic skills will be developed to manage a farm or agribusiness. Content will include: managing production and inventory, equipment, credit and taxes, market analysis and developing a business plan. Leadership development will be provided through FFA (Future Farmers of America). Each student will be expected to have a supervised agricultural experience program.

Agriculture Construction Skills 010241
This course prepares students to construct and maintain agricultural structures and equipment. Develops basic skills such as: tool identification, interpreting plans, calculating a bill of materials, electrification, carpentry, welding, metal fabrication, plumbing and masonry. FFA Club Program
Lewis County Future farmers of America (FFA) youth organization has grown to 55 members from 10 members 8 years ago.
The FFA is advised by the agriculture Teacher Mr. Buford Criswell and is governed by the elected officers chosen by the members and Interview committee. Each officer has duties to be cared out annually to make club activities run smoothly. Over summer break FFA officers are encouraged to attend Kentucky leadership training center to obtain leadership skills from hands on learning. That is brought back to the school and demonstrated through behavior and actions to classmates in the upcoming year.
FFA also provides numerous Career Developing Events (CDE) competing in our ten school region of the Big Sandy River Region were each school has an elected Regional officer to help in the decision making process for the region.
