In order for a student to achieve career readiness, he or she must meet the benchmarks for both academic and technical requirements. See the chart below for details regarding specific assessments associated with career readiness. Depending on which career pathway a student is in, the assessments may vary. For additional questions, please see your student’s counselor or Career and Technical Education teacher.
If a student has not met the CPE benchmarks on the ACT, he or she must achieve benchmark on the ASVAB or WorkKeys.
ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)
Benchmark = 50 AFQT
WorkKeys
Benchmark = Silver Certificate (4 or above on applied math, locating information, and reading for information)
Once a student achieves preparatory status in a KDE approved career pathways, he or she will take the KOSSA and/or Industry Certificate. In addition, a student may meet the technical component by completing 4 successful years of JROTC.
