LCMS Project

Mrs. Denton-Applegate has incorporated project-based learning in her classroom. Students received instruction in math, reading, science, safety, hands-on and transition to the workforce. Her students were actively engaged in the entire process of building the mineral feeder and their project is complete! Students were excited to work on this project and to see their final product! Guest speakers Kennedy Perkins (Lewis County Extension Agent) and Jamie Mitchell (Master Carpenter and Owner of JAM Construction) came to talk with the students about mineral facts and their importance and tool/construction safety. Each student was supplied with their own safety glasses, gloves, measuring tape, and level. Each student was supplied with their own safety glasses, gloves, measuring tape, and level. A big thank you to those who donated materials to make this project-based learning lesson a success!
